Over 2,000  health workersfrom the 18 local government areas of Ondo State have sued Governor Rotimi Akeredolu at the National Industrial Court in Akure over alleged demotion  and deduction of their salaries. Other defendants in the suit are the state Attorney-General and the Local Government Service Commission.

The workers alleged that the defendants had been short-changing them since 2013. Justice Oyejoju Oyewumi fixed July 1 and 2, 2019 for full hearing of the case.
